Was Jesus really born on Christmas?
What’s in the Bible? is the new 13-DVD series from VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer designed to walk kids and families through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. DVDs 1-4 (Genesis – Ruth) are available now. Check out www.whatsinthebible.com to learn more.
The DVDs are tailored just right for kids to understand the material in the Bible. The characters make it fun and interesting for the kids. My girls were so excited when the DVDs arrived at our house. Both M and L are enjoying the characters. I love to that it helps open up conversation with the kids and their parents about the bible.
Would you like to have a DVD for your family? WIN ONE! I have four copies of the What’s in the Bible? DVD #1 to giveaway to my readers.

Thank you to What’s In the Bible for sending our family the DVDs. No compensation was given and all thoughts and opinions are of our own!

Cute. You know, the early church did try to estimate when Jesus was born, based on the date of the Passover and prophecies that would help point the way. Sometime in December was one of their best guesses, and it isn’t a bad one, so I just go with it. Who cares why they picked that day? Obviously, a lot of people. Old Scrooges.
I’m just glad He was born, aren’t you?

Thank you for posting this video. Our family loves all the characters from JellyTelly.com and from their sister site, whatsinthebible.com. I even listed them as the number one kids show on my website of Fun Sites for Kids who Love God at http://just4kids.club.officelive.com. Our pastor even shows their video clips in church on Sunday, and I award the kids points for knowing the Jelly Telly Verse of the Week in the AWANA kids club I lead. I’m going to email a link to this post to all the parents in our church right now!

I actually heard that they figured it was somewhere in September. Seems no one really knows and I kinda like that. 🙂 Like the video says, it doesn’t really matter when… it matters that He was born and still lives!
Lana @ ilovemy5kids says
I guess the older we get the more questions we do have…I’m just glad somethings really don’t matter! 🙂

Thanks for hosting this. I have a free Bible game on my website that helps people understand the true facts of Christmas, as well as some other family games and free Bible games. Your or your readers might be interested in these.

My kids got really freaked out when they heard that the 25th wasn’t really Jesus’s birthday. Despite knowing that’s not the point, they’re still very “freaked out.” : )

“What’s in the Bible” characters have become our family’s new “fave.” I think they should take all 12 days of these questions and add it in as an extra to their next video (or maybe do a Christmas video and include it there). Anyway, VERY cool! Thanks!

I found this site by accident. and I actually didn’t even click the anything…well perhaps the Lord guided me. I love it and my two little boys just watched question number 2. Where can I find question #1? Can’t wait to visit you regularly to see what you have in store for us! Thank you for your site and please enter me in the drawing as well. Are the characters a tv program or something? I read some of the comments and any direction would be appreciated! Love learning about the Lord and teaching my kids!!

This is what we have to do, turn around the secular things of the world and make them acceptable in the eyes of God. No one remembers that Dec 25 was a Roman celebration, we just simply know it as the birth of the greatest person on earth! We can do that for everything else. One day people forget the original secular meaning of something and replace it with a holy and spiritual meaning pleasing to God. ^_^

I just found these videos today while I was looking for new resources online to recommend for families in our church to help them teach their kids the Bible. My husband, a pastor, challenged families yesterday that passing on our faith starts at home. We shared last night at our small group a few of the tools we have used with our five kids. These movies would be a great thing to teach our children and to pass along to others. Thanks so much for the offer.
