My Madi girl performed in her end of the year clogging recital this past weekend. I’m so incredibly proud of her talents. She received an award for 9 years of clogging.
Have you heard of clogging? Check out one of her dances from the recital.
We were able to surprise the boys on an amazing trip this past weekend. The CARS 3 Tour rolled into a town near us and we were all able to go and see a life-size replica of some of the cars in the upcoming movie.
Take a seat and watch a short promotional video of the new movie!
This movie will be more emotional than the other CARS movies. Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage! Directed by Brian Fee (storyboard artist “Cars,” “Cars 2”), produced by Kevin Reher (“A Bug’s Life,” “La Luna” short) and co-produced by Andrea Warren (“LAVA” short).
To help get your children excited for the movie release, we have a memory game you can download and print.
The boys enjoyed learning how to change a tire and seeing a sneak peek of the movie. There was no movement of them during the 15-minute sneak peek. They truly were in awe!
Please note: Jackson is enjoying a delicious Pineapple Pit-Stop Smoothie by Dole in the video.
Here is the easy recipe:
INGREDIENTS
2 cups DOLE® Pineapple
1 cup DOLE Baby Spinach
1 DOLE Banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 cup ice
1⁄4 tsp ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS
Combine pineapple, spinach, banana, almond milk, ice and cinnamon in blender. Cover; blend until smooth.
For the latest movie release updates, please visit the CARS 3 Facebook page and don’t forget about the June 16th release date. Enjoy!
What if your child could only get their nutrition from a feeding tube or by drinking a prescription formula? This is a very thought-provoking question. You probably have never been asked this question before, but I’m asking you since this week is National Eosinophilic Awareness Week.
After years of going to several different doctors, L was finally diagnosed early last year with a rare disease called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. According to the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology, Eosinophilic Esophagitis is a recognized chronic allergic/immune condition. A person with EoE will have inflammation of the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube that sends food from the mouth to the stomach. EoE is considered to be a chronic condition and is not outgrown. That’s why why we need a cure for our L and the many others that suffer from this horrific disease. Children often have recurring abdominal pain, trouble swallowing or vomiting. The esophagus can narrow to the point that food gets stuck. This is called food impaction and it is a medical emergency. We have been in the emergency room several times with L because of food impactions before we took food completely out of her diet and put her on a prescription formula.
L does food trials and currently only has two safe foods, pears and sweet potatoes. Can you imagine waking up in the morning and only being able to eat the two same foods and formula? Can you imagine going to a party and watching everyone at food around you? Can you imagine walking into a restaurant and seeing all these people eat around you but you know that you are not able to eat that food? Can you imagine kids all around eating candy, ice cream cones, and/or juice but you can’t? It’s hard to imagine life like this but it is our L’s reality. We need a cure.
The CURED Foundation is a not for profit foundation dedicated to those suffering from Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Diseases (EGID), including eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), eosinophilic gastritis (EG), eosinophilic colitis (EC) and other eosinophilic disorders. CURED is committed to raising substantial funding to aid in research, advocating on behalf of EGID patients and their families, and working to educate and increase awareness about this complex group of diseases. 100% of every donation to the CURED Foundation goes straight to research. Will you help spread the word and/or donate so we can see a CURE in our near future. Our family is begging and pleading for you to take this serious.
Thank you for hearing us out. My L is the strongest person I have ever met. She truly is my hero!

We will be attending BlogHer 2017 in June and our plans are to visit one of Disney’s water parks. I just read the news about Frozen’s Summer Games returning to Blizzard Beach this summer.
Following the success of the inaugural “Frozen” Summer Games last year, guests visiting Blizzard Beach can once again join Team Kristoff or Team Olaf to participate in a variety of activities, from Ice Pail Relays and a Snowball Toss to Ski Pole Limbo and Slide Races. It’s going to be a blast!
With crafts, games and a DJ spinning some up-tempo tunes throughout the day, the “Frozen” Summer Games are sure to be a major highlight of your day at Blizzard Beach this summer.
And for the first time in forever, you will be able to meet and take photos with Kristoff and Olaf at Blizzard Beach! Either Kristoff or Olaf will be at a designated character greeting location at the park, where you can snap photos of each “Frozen” star and let them know which team you chose to play for.
This may have just solidified our decision of our water park choice. The entire family loves Disney’s Frozen!
