Spring Break Through Visual Form

This past week, we were splitting from our normal routine and letting Spring Break Rule our lives. I would be pretty happy for Spring Break to take control of our lives more often ;)… just saying!

On the first stop of the break was our very own cheese factory. That’s right, cheese is made right here. Bet you didn’t know that did you. Bet you didn’t know something else; According to a certain 4 year old that proudly announced at the cheese factory, she nows how they get the milk from the cows to make the cheese. Why the cows poop the milk out mom. Out of the mouth of cute little L. Duh mom… you should have known that all alone ;). (yes, I was trying to hard to hold back the laughter)

Spring break don’t stay still so we were off on another break trip to the super fab Grandfather Mountain. Now there are some days, you can go on this mountain and literally get blowed away. All the powers to be of Spring Break were super kind to us to bring out the sun and stop the winds.

Zooming on down that mountain, we ended up south at the Catawba Science Museum the next day. We did survive all the science experiements and the 20 foot snake that I would rather not see again. Who knew we could have so much fun with science though. We had a blast!

The round about sent us going east to the central part of the state of NC. The girls did super well on the drive (ok bribing them with chick-fil-a worked too) and we all had a blast meeting some fellow other mom bloggers. It was a fun mixer (Primrose – more about this super cool place soon) put on by the wonderful Maria Bailey

Those in attendance that I had the pleasure of meeting and mixing together as moms were Raleigh Girl, Carolina Mama, MyGoMom and of course again RealLifeSarah (so glad we are hometown buds)

Before I met up with these super fab women.. I got to stop at Starbucks and get a beloved Chai Tea and MEET another super cool mom blogger and twitter – MsFitUniverse

As you can see… Spring Break was on great rides each day. This is one ride that I wish kept going and going. I cannot wait till Summer Break now :). I love being outside and getting out and about with everyone!

Easter Such a Blessing Story

What a wonderful Easter celebration we had yesterday. Our Lord is risen. Amen!

We had a wonderful church service that left chills up and down my arms. We then proceeded to the Parkway for a quick stop before we headed over to my parents for lunch and Easter egg hunt. It was a downright hoot when the adults hid the eggs then it came down to it the last few eggs could not be found and the adults could not find their own eggs they hid! We were all laughing so hard.

After the egg hunt, my wonderful bff came over with her family for some great homemade ice cream and more Easter egg hunts. We laughed, we smiled, we talked and we laughed some more. It was almost 8:00pm before we even knew it. All good things must come to an end right? Well only for the night 🙂 Many more fun nights ahead since warmer weather is coming.

We got the girls home, baths done and they were asleep within 5 minutes of hitting their pillows. Here are some pictures of our day.

Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! New DVD Review

This cute little show recently made way through millions of television sets of children. The songs not only captivate preschool children, but can get mothers in on the show too ;).

L’s little eyes lit up when she seen me get this new DVD out of our mail box to do a review on. The new DVD named Pirates Treasure was just recently released.

The new show is a whole adventure in itself when Wubbzy decides to find the buried pirate treasure. The songs and dances are so catchy, that its all moms can do to NOT get involved with their preschooler. Just go ahead and have some fun.. you will be less stressed and your preschooler will enjoy every minute of the shows.

Now, there are some obstacles along the way: Wubbzy gets lost in the woods and then Walden is afraid of the beach. I will not spoil how they overcome the obstacles, but it is a great opportunity for your child to see how they can overcome problems. They do not have to cry when something goes wrong. Great teaching tool.

L is four years old and it has become one of her favorite DVD’s right now to sit and watch on a daily basis. Even when we are driving down the road she will start singing and start trying to do one of the dances in her carseat. I’m telling you, great family fun.

Go ahead and get your preschooler the newly released DVD today. You will not be disappointed. L gives it two thumbs up!

Leslie Patricelli Childrens Books

When I was asked to review this wonderful author and illustrator, it could not have came at a better time. My oldest daughter M is learning to read and will read everything in sight now. No hiding words from her anymore ;). The thing is, my youngest L doesn’t understand how M can read so good now. So these books were a big hit at our house with L.

Leslie Patricelli is the author and illustrator of a great series of books (seven altogether) of bright and engaging children’s board books and full length picture books. Her unique style and presence in the books is what holds the child’s attention and let’s them have such a full imagination.

Every one of her books feature a star diaper-clad baby giving a new refreshed take on our day to day activities. From being quiet, to screaming as loud as we can ;). Right moms? You can just tell from the cover of the book Higher! Higher! above that the book will not leave you without a smile.

The books have such neat and descriptive pictures, with very little words, that is allowed my youngest L to be able to “read” the books with her own words.

I really thing imagination is very important during a child’s growing years. These books are a perfect example of getting the wheels turning and letting your child take control of their reading at an early age. L gives the books two thumbs up!

Weight Watchers Milestone 40 Pounds Gone

First off… I am so happy to be back to blogging. I believe we finally have removed that pesky stomach bug once and for all (don’t we hope!). I achieved a HUGE milestone while I was away battening down the hatches from that pesky stomach bug.

I am finally 40+ pounds GONE! I try to take pictures along the way so I can look back, because since I see myself everyday, it is hard to see the progress I have made. Looking back over these three pictures, I can so tell the hard work that I have accomplished. I have been trying to loose this weight for such a long time, and you just don’t understand the joy it has brought me to finally say good by forever to that spare tire I was carrying around my waist. I am having so much fun with all the new healthy recipes I am cooking for my family. I catch myself smiling more when I look at myself in the mirror. It’s just an overall good feeling. I still have a bit more to go till my final goal, but just take a moment and look at my journey below of pictures of the last few months. Can you see my progress? 🙂

Here’s to reaching my next goal of 50 pounds by my birthday on May 11th! I know I can do IT 🙂
