What a week it has been! I am so glad to actually get back into civilized country here in the blogging world. Going without internet and TV…. OH MY. How did they survive back in the day without these things??

We made our move with the grace of God and the help of some great friends! Just when we were all set to move, hubbs got word his company was laying off 75% of the workforce permanent due to the falling economy. You know what, I was mad and upset for a day then realized, this is actually a blessing in disguise. We have been wanting hubbs to get into a new field due to several circumstances and this is the shove God is giving us to get him there. We have total faith he will get another job and God is leading the way to that new journey. We will follow.

Once we got our move, it took forever for internet and TV but we are back in business now. I did lose my desktop computer in the process. I have no idea what happened, but Sunday when I went to turn the desktop on… I received the black screen of death. It would not boot, no desktop screen, nothing. I am going to have it checked out to see if it can be saved, I sure hope so. We had to dip into savings and purchase a laptop for me so I could get back to work. Hubbs said Happy early Valentines Day ;).

I do like it, though cause I can be more mobile now with my work and not be strapped to a desktop.

So we are all settling in now, battening down the hatches with this snow storm that is hitting us. It has already cancelled school for two days… lets see how many more ;).

The weather outside is frightful cold, but why not take this time and have a blast with your family. It will make you all warm and fuzzy inside :).

The hotels included in the packages are really family friendly. One of the hotels is Holiday Inn at Leigh Valley which includes S’Moresgabord Roast.

Weight Watchers Update

I did a VLog of my progress so far with Weight Watchers. Note in the video how my youngest comes in to play with my hair ;). She is so attached to my hair. I love it!

You Are My Hero Grandma

It is no secret that my 95 year old grandmother is my best buddy. I am her youngest grandchild and we have always been super close. I even spent my summers as a little girl at her house way up in the country with no stores very near. I didn’t care, because I was with my grandma.

When I got the call this week that she has multiple blood clots in her legs and they could easily go to her heart before they can do the surgery needed next week, I just lost it. There is no way I can lose my grandma. I immediately dropped work for the day and spent all day with her Friday and then went back down there today and spent most of the day with her today.

She is very independent and still cooks all her meals, cleans her house, does her laundry etc. You get the picture. So when she was told she needs to stay seated with feet propped up, you can only imagine how that went ;).

So we are all trying our best to make sure she does this very thing. I told her Friday when we were hugging and face to face. I said grandma, “you know you light up mine and the girls’ life. We cannot lose you, you have to stay off your feet. I love you so much and not ready to say goodbye anytime soon.” She said “I know Jennifer, but it is just hard to sit still. I like to be doing something all the time.” I had tears… that is just my grandma.

When I left that day, she kept watching me as I drove away down the road. The tears were falling so much down my face. I so did not want this to be the last time I said goodbye to her. It wasn’t 🙂 and I was so happy to be with her today.

She is a big prayer warrior and I ask the moms blogging community to join me in prayers this week that she will be ok and the doctors will be able to get rid of the infection in her legs and the blood clots. Thank you so much.

Grandma… I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH. You are an inspiration to all.

Moms Organize With Online Calendars

Do you feel you are always on the go?

I am all the time trying to remember all my family’s events through out the week. So I signed up for Qlubb. It was free, very simple and easy to sign up.

I immediately logged in and thought it was very user friendly. The best part is…you can invite your whole family. All you have to do is give them the family password, and each family member can write down their to-do list, coming up events, vacations or even dr appointments. THEN… mom will not be clueless each and every day when she is trying to play mom taxi and get everyone to where they are suppose to be.

The neat thing also, is you can create multiple groups for your book club, school groups, church groups, or sport teams. There is no reason to loose emails, or forget to email someone. Now, you can have it all in one organized calendar online. It is easily secure with a password only you and your group will know.

You can share photos privately within your group, even share files, or create your own message board within your group. All in one place, instead of going through mounds and mounds of emails that will not be organized.

So quit forgetting, quit being misunderstood, quit the uncoordination… just quit it ok? It’s all about organizing and making the whole group of parents happy :). Remember if mommy is not happy then no one is!
