8 Random Facts About Jen

I have been tagged by the Internet Marketing Queen and a mentor I look up to Alice Seba to provide you 8 random facts about good ole Jen here. Ok.. here we go :). Sit back and enjoy!

1) I received a full ride scholarship in highschool and I quit after my first year UGGGH to get married… DUMB MOVE!

2) I am a work at home mom that left my corporate art technician job when my first daughter was born. I designed the labels that go in the back of your shirt .

3) I breastfeed my youngest daughter till she was 18 months and I did the slow weaning process because she refused any food or cup. It was all mommy for 18 months. I still regret that but mommy was going crazy and I was worrying that she needed more food varieties.

4) I won my school spelling bee 🙂

5) I have my two beautiful girls ages 4 and 2 and want to have more, but hubbs got the big V. I would like adopt in the future!

6) I feel like I have always had the entrepreneur spirit in me since we were poor growing up and I am determined to turn that around for my girls so they can have a better future and have more values instilled in them.

7) I'm addicted to moms blogs. I love communicating with other moms and see what milestones their kids are hitting. I just LOVE being a mom period!

8) Since we moved to Florida last month, we take the girls swimming everyday at our pool here in the development. Hey its good weightloss plan too hehe.

And Then There Was Two

My bud Nell over at MomsBlogging.com has started a new Meme… Memory Lane Monday. This week we are talking about when we first saw those two lines!

My first baby girl was most definitely a surprise. I had tried for three years to have a baby and never could, so I really thought something was wrong with me! One day at work though I started feeling so sleepy and honestly like I had been hit by a train. I even fell asleep during our department meeting. .

I never really put two and two together until about a week later and thought hmm I have not had my period yet this month. I asked my boss if I could leave for the day as I was not feeling well. He said sure go ahead and get well! I of course stopped by our drug store and picked up a pregnancy test. Now.. get this Scott calls while I'm at the store and was just wondering what I was up to since he couldn't get me at work. I just told him I wasn't feeling well and stopped to pick up some medicine and go home to rest. He said oh ok.. and that was that.

So I get my pregnancy test go home and whip into the bathroom really fast… now I knew it said you were suppose to catch first morning's pee for more accurate results but heck no I couldn't do the wait. I took the test and I couldn't bare to look at it as I didn't want to get disappointed. I did a hurried glance after a few minutes and I thought I saw more than one line so I took a double take. OMG I started freaking then there was TWO LINES!!! I am going to have a baby. I wanted to shout from the rooftops!

I wrapped the test up and put it in my dresser and just went and laid down and I know I had the biggest smile on my face. Next thing I know I woke up and Scott was standing beside me. He said are you ok HUN? I said sure I am.. just a little tired. Then he looked at me and said do you have something to tell me? I said what do you mean… he said I just got goose bumps today when I was talking on the phone with you. You didn't go to the store to get medicine did you? He said I KNOW YOU ARE PREGNANT. He was grinning ear to ear. I said how did you know? I went and got the test and showed it to him. From that night on he pretty much babied me the whole pregnancy.. such a blessing and today he adores his girls more than anything!

I still have my pregnancy test and actually have mine from Lyndsee as well. I always look at them every once in a while and just sit down and think back during those times that I took the tests. Wow has my life changed since I have my girls, but I know one thing I would NOT want to live life without my girls. 🙂

Mommy got her own room

YES! You read the title right. Mommy has her own room… Mommy has her own room… I'm so excited. See the girls usually take up space all throughout the house with their toys and such and its not really a big deal but as I'm getting wiser in my older years HA!.. I am wanting more organization throughout the house.

Ever since I have worked at home, I have always shared space with the girls and never really had my own space so to speak. You do know the kids rule our world right . Anywho today hubbs and I decided to do some organizing so I could have my own office space to where I can go in there and get away from everything and concentrate. Let me show you the final outcome.

I am so stoked to get my own space. Hubbs let me celebrate this evening by having daddy and daughter time. He took the girls to the pool, then came home gave their baths to them and rocked Lyndsee to sleep and read Madisyn a story. It felt so good to have "my own space" for just a bit. I know I am going to love working at home so much better now!!!

A Cool Stay At Home Dad

You know there are a lot of stay at home moms throughout the world, but what if the mom wanted to enjoy her career and be a mommy. There is nothing wrong with that and doesn't even mean that she loves her kids any less, it just means she wants the best of both worlds.

Well I came across a cool Stay At Home Dad, Geek Style the other day and I have been reading through his blog. I love his style of writing and its not a boring blog… the writings keep you wanting to read the whole post. You can tell he loves his baby girl very much and is very eager and enjoying being a Stay At Home Dad, Geek Style.

And as if he wasn't already cool enough he lives just in the next city as our family and he is having a Stay At Home Dad Digital Camera Give-Away. This camera is not just a digital camera.. it is a Canon PowerShot SD750. I couldn't believe it when I read his post and you better bet I am joining in on the contest. Go join and have fun reading his posts too 🙂
