You are probably like… what in the world is Jen writing on her blog?
But yes it was… notice I said “was” true. My wonderful four year old Madisyn is so special and soooo head strong like her mommy. Oh the stubborness comes out on a daily basis and the power struggles, but I wouldn’t live a day with out them ;).
She has been potty trained for pee peeing for about 2 years now. No problems whatsoever on potty training her that way, but she always just downright refused to poop(we call it woo woo) in the potty. She would always wait and go in her pull-up at night. Now granted she has always had tummy problems and is on medicine, so I think that is what led up to her just afraid to go woo wooing in the potty.
Well she is 4 1/2 now and mommy Jen had enough of her power struggles so I finally just said no more pull-ups at night. She was ok with this at first, but then the days started going by and there goes day 3, there goes day 6 and eventually we were on day 8 and she STILL had not went woo woo in the potty. What did I tell you… she is one head strong little girl. Definitely has the whole mind over matter game going on.
Last night you could tell she was in obvious pain. I was trying everything to coax her to just go try and sit on the potty. I had already told her at the beginning of this whole thing that if she would go, I would take her to disney world. She said no thanks mom I would rather just have my pull-up. STUBBORN lol.
So I thought ok, well since she is so attached to her pull-ups I will put one on her but cut out the seat of it and make her sit on the potty. So I did that and what do you know BINGO…. she went and woo wooed in the potty. BUT the funny thing is… I was on the phone talking to my friend Carrie Lauth, when Madisyn came running and said really LOUD
mommy mommy, I woo wooed a big one in the potty mommy. It’s really big come look.
Now, I had already talked to Carrie about Madisyn just a little bit at the beginning of the conversation, so I’m not sure if Carrie put two and two together of what Madisyn was saying… I was just hurrying up and getting off the phone and dying in embarrassment LOL.
I got off the phone and ran into the bathroom and picked her up and we both cried. We were so happy but yet crying. I immediately dropped everything and took her to target and let her pick out three toys (of course on the clearance aisle hahaha). We rocked out and danced for the longest time last night. Went and got ice cream. I really wanted to play it up so she would think that this was just the greatest thing ever. She is still talking about it and so far so good today all is well.
Anyways, hopefully our story will help others. Surely we are not the only ones that are dealing with this problem ;).
