Parking for Parents

How neat is this idea? If I am going to the grocery store by myself I usually try to park further out in the parking lot so I can get the extra exercise from walking to the store, but when I have my girls with me.. I need something more compatible for us so I try to get a closer parking spot.

Well much to my surprise when I pull up to the grocery store this weekend and say Parking for Parents. WHAT? Did the grocery store read my mind? How neato is this! It’s up front parking that you just get out and hop into the store. WOOT!

I’m so glad I seen this happen and hopefully more stores will catch on to this effect. Believe me when you are trying to juggle a screaming two year old, a runaway buggie and a demanding four year old close parking is a must 😉

Here’s to more stores develop the parenting parking technique. Does any of your stores have Parent parking?

Preschool Mom Is Upset

Ok.. Tell me if this would make you upset.

The weather finally got to 40 degrees yesterday so Madisyn’s preschool went outside.. which is totally fine by me. This is the warmest it has been in forever. BUT when I went to pick her up the kids were rolling down the hills while the teachers stood there and watched.

For one it was freezing rain all day Sunday. For two I think the ground is too cold to be wallering all over. For three.. you should see their clothes. Muddy head to toe sad

What would you do in this situation?

Terrible Two Tantrums

Oh boy are the tantrums going full strong in my two year old. It’s definitely her way or you better take your ears and hit the highway.

For example…. she wanted my camera this morning to take pictures. She loves taking pictures. They are ummm let me see very abstract… half of the couch, mommy’s foot, daddy’s butt (LOL), top of the door, the kitchen cabinets. What do you think I have an artist on my hands? Well we like to think so 🙂

This is what I got when I wouldn’t let her have the camera this morning:

On the way to take my 4 year old to preschool this morning…. here is how it went in the van.

2 year old: Mom sun in eyes
Mom: Ok sweetie and I tried to block the sun from her
2 year old: NO WAY PLEASE :::screams:::
Mom: Ok I will not block the sun from getting to you then.
2 year old: Proceeds to kick the seat, scream, being loud.
Mom: Ok… that is enough missy. We don’t need to be like that, its not nice.
2 year old: :::calms down and calmly says::: HAHA mom I funny.

Oh my do I have a drama queen on my hands then. She was making the whole tantrum up. TOO FUNNY… well not at the time, but now that I look back on it. I wouldn’t trade her for the world 😉

Valentines Day in a 4 Year Olds Eyes

Hey Valentines are not just for sweethearts right? This is the first year that my oldest daughter really got into Valentines. I’m thinking probably because they talked about it so much at her preschool. She was so excited for Valentines Day to come. She kept asking me each day for like the whole week before.

On Tuesday evening we sat down and did her Dora Valentine cards for preschool. I am proud to say she wrote her name all by herself on each one. I’m such a proud mom and I believe Madisyn was even prouder. She couldn’t wait to announce to her daddy when he come home.

So she was all stoked to go to bed Tuesday night so she could wake up for Valentines Day. Wednesday morning she leaped out of bed and said mommy HAPPY VALENTINES DAY. I love you mommy. There goes the heart melt. She definitely knows how to pull the oh heart strings ;). We did our morning routine and off to the preschool we go.

They had a great Valentines Party even inspite of the winter weather we had. It was so cute seeing the preschooler kids gush over their valentines. Madisyn definitely hit the motherload for cards and candy.

They even remembered her little sis ;). That was a big bonus in Lyndsee’s eyes:

Now just because preschool was over, we could not stop the festivities there now could we ;). We came home and made Valentine Biscuits for daddy when he came home. Our little homemade love gift to the greatest man in our lives :).

So it was fun making this Valentines a great family holiday and seeing the girls get all excited. It doesn’t just have to be all about mushy mushy sweethearts. Make it a family tradition and something your children will carry on with them through life and make traditions with their own family.

Where has Jen Been?

I have been missing in action of sorts.

My home business Blue Ridge Virtual Assistance has definitely kept me busy and then also stressing over the Dr. appointments for my four year old. I hope to have answers to that soon and get this all behind us.

I believe the month of January was the hardest month I have had. I just felt my life was spiraling out of control. I have already took steps to help this be a better month and get a grip on me again. I tell you if you do not watch out it is easy to get caught up in Mommy Burnout. I use to do well and keep myself pretty focused and organized but the last month with stressing over everything it came to a head.
