A special little 5 year old in NC! My precious little L loves to perform and she has been singing songs in the last month from her big sister’s community theater production of Willy Wonka. I caught her in the bedroom doing these songs and asked her if she would do them again so I could video her.
I now present you the next Broadway Star!
Isn’t she great? I have to get her into theater and dance. This girl loves all things art indeed 🙂
I have a hero in the blogging world. Her name happens to be Stephanie over at Adventures in Babywearing. As you all know, L has had lots of medical issues during her whole life. We are working through all the issues. One of the things that has always weighed heavily on my mind is vaccinations. L only received her vaccinations her first year of life. Then when all her medical issues started escalating and I begin doing more and more research, my husband and I made the decision to hold off on the vaccinations for her. I knew we had a few years till she had to start school so I would just deal with it later.
Well as you know time and life comes at you fast. L is ready to begin kindergarten. How can this be true? I began worrying on what we would do with the vaccinations requirement for school entry then I stumbled across this informational blog post from Stephanie. She totally answered my questions and made me realize that I could stand up for my child and not make L do the vaccinations to just attend school.
We enrolled her in school Monday and everything went so smoothly and the staff at the school didn’t even bat an eye about the girls’ vaccinations report. Now, I do want to say that I am not saying for you to not get your kids vaccinated. All I am saying is to please read Stephanie’s post and get educated about the whole vaccination situation. You are your child’s voice and we do still have rights here in the USA.
My husband and I both feel we have made the right choice for our girls and I hope the same when you are making the decision about your children.

Do you ever feel so down that you just think the world is crashing in on you? I am sure we have all felt that way some time or other. We can do one of two things.
1. Keep drowning in our own pity
2. Get up and do something positive to turn that pity into a smile
My precious daughter L, has chosen number 2. This beautiful girl has definitely been through a tough time medical wise through her very short years on this Earth. You would think she would be sad and just not a fun person to be around with all that she has been through, but actually it is the totally opposite. Over the past two weeks of her recovery from her surgery, she has not once put herself first. She is just wanting to do for others.
While M, was at theater practice last week, she wanted to surprise M and daddy with some brownies. So we got to work or should I say L got to work. She can make some mean brownies now 😉
She set the table with little plates and put a brownie on each plate for daddy and M to have as soon as they walked in the door.
The very next day, she looked out the window and saw her daddy sweating up a storm by mowing our lawn and she said mommy I need to go to the kitchen. I sat and watched her to see what she was up to now. She proceeded to take down the peanut butter jar and get out two pieces of bread and make her daddy a peanut butter sandwich. She grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge and went and put both items on the table. She marched her cute little self to the door and yelled out “Daddy, you have to come in right this minute.” Hubby came running in really fast thinking something was wrong, and he just got the biggest smile on his face to see what his little girl had done for him. He said honey are you taking pointers from your daughter? HAHA!
The next morning, I was trying to finish up some work assignments before heading out the door to an appointment and she showed up in the bedroom with two pieces of toast and a cup of milk for me! She honestly just keeps on giving and giving to others each and everyday all the while she cannot eat because her throat hurts too bad.
We can learn from this. Instead of L dwelling on the bad and the pain she is experiencing, she is helping others to keep her day more upbeat. We need to turn the downward spirals and make them upward just as little L is doing.
Let’s make life a positive experience!
If you have been following along with me on Facebook, you will know my youngest DD L has been very sick with her asthma and allergies. She is on multiple steroids, antibiotics, antihistamines, 2 allergy shots a week, 3 breathing treatments a day and the list could go on. Her body really needs a break.
Hopefully this morning will be the first step in her body getting the break. I am a nervous mommy as I am such a worry wart. My baby girl is getting her tonsils and adenoids remove. It is a simple surgery but with her asthma, it makes the surgery a bit riskier. I know the Good Lord has his arms wrapped around her and my Grandma is right there as her guardian angel all through surgery and recovery.
Another person that will be by her side for the next 2 weeks during recovery is our doggy. They are truly BFF’s and love each other so much.
On our recent road trip, the girls and I sneaked away for a couple nights and had some much needed one on one time with each other. I have mom guilt so much since I work full-time and so when the opportunity fell in my lap by a wonderful and inspiring mom friend, the girls and I were off to the most magical place on Earth…. Disney.
As you know we were at Animal Kingdom but our first night in the magical land, it was all about Magic Kingdom.
Since my beautiful princesses were in tow, I of course had to make our first stop with a walk through Cinderella’s castle.
As soon as we walked through the royal palace, the girls locked their eyes on the ever so popular Carousel ride. Every time we go to Magic Kingdom, the girls have to make sure they ride the Carousel. I loved the Carousel as a child growing up so to see the glitter in the girls eyes, just makes my heart melt all over again.
Skipping off the Carousel onto “It’s a Small World” ride all the while singing it as loud as we can holding hands….
We glided right off that boat onto our magical carpet to see the ever so cool 3D show that splashes water on you and blows air in your face. The smiles, the giggles, and the nerdy yellow glasses. Memories forever with my girls.
As the darkness was setting in, our hearts were bursting out at the seams for the Electrical Parade. We first heard of the Parade back in February at Disney Social Media Moms, so to be able to experience the Parade in person was really a dream come true for the girls.
We sought out our spot to make sure we had the perfect setting to be able to enjoy the parade and up came a little handsome boy that wanted a hug so bad from L. He held out his hands to her over and over.
L just would give him the cold shoulder and finally he just started pleading “Please give me a hug”, but there was just no hope from princess L!
She is saving her love for her future prince but that is many many years away ;). It was onto the highlight of the night with my two favorite girls.

The night was finished off with the princesses sitting by the castle to watch the skies light up with all the colors we could ever think of.
