Summer Thunderstorms Sends Family In a Tizzy

What a beautiful morning we woke up to this morning! We headed out bright and early to the farmer’s market to pick up our weekly fruits and veggies we would need. Then we thought at last minute we would head to the lake again and have a nice cook-out.

We couldn’t have gotten any better spot for the cookout. Great big shade trees all around and a perfect spot for the girls to play in the water. The charcoal goes in the grill and then we put the turkey burgers on. While, taking in the nice summer smell of the charcoal grill and the beautiful nature surroundings, I say “This is the perfect day for a cookout with the right temperatures and the big shade trees.”

About that time… I begin to feel sprinkles. Ok… let’s not worry about it. We are under this big shade tree… it will be fine! Then BAM!!! Big loud of thunder and a huge lightning bolt, then comes the torrential down pours.

We all jump up. Begin throwing food in bags, packing up chairs, trying to load our arms with the coolers and begin running for our lives. It took about 4 trips to get everything in the van and by this point we were all beyond soaked. All families around us yelling and running. Cars and trucks trying to get out at one time. Girls screaming because they were scared and the poor turkey burgers wasted. What a day it was… but we all get in the van and Thank God everyone is safe and sound… THEN we let out the biggest laugh and could NOT stop laughing.

Just all in the day of our life 🙂

What Life Is All About

It has been an interesting few days around here of trying decide about our move back to NC. I was hoping the move wouldn’t be this fast as we had plans for May, but it is what it is… and we can always make new plans.

This is the last few months before my daughter starts kindy in August, and I am going to make it special for her so she will have memories of a lifetime. I cannot believe she has grown so fast. She definitely has my heart wrapped around her heart. It warms my heart as well to see her micmic me. She loves to put make-up on as I do, and yesterday she wanted me to straighten her hair like I do mine. Just take a look at my beautiful daughter. This is definitely what I dreamed of being a mom and is what life is all about with my daughter’s.

Last night while I was doing some work for clients here in my office, she surprised me once again with the love she has for her sister with this drawing. Is it not the cutest? I will hold onto this image forever.

Just to show you what kind of heart Madisyn has for her sister Lyndsee… yesterday we were out running errands and the humidity and heat was some kind of crazy down here in Florida yesterday. We were getting out of the van and Madisyn saw Lyndsee having problems breathing and she was sweating. While I was tending to Lyndsee, Madisyn immediately ran into the house, grabbed a washcloth, wet it and ran to Lyndsee to put it on her forehead and head. I have never told her to do this, and I just starting getting tears in my eyes when I seen what Madisyn had done.

This is what life is all about and it tells me I must be doing something right as a mom :).

While I have your attention as well…I have been reading Amy’s blog for just a bit, but it is definitely one of my fun daily reads. She also is a NC gal too 🙂 Pretty cool huh? Anyways she presented me with an award this week and it just made my day and put a huge smile across my face. It is the “I Love Your Blog To Pieces”

Having Fun in the Rain

Well… we wanted to have a little fun today before the big storms arrived this evening here in Florida. So, we set out for an adventure to the park. We had thought we could have a nice little morning with the girls going through all the activities at the park and have a fun family picnic lunch.

Mother nature had other plans and decided to bring the rain early and it started right as we pulled up. It was just lightly and we thought what the heck… lets let the girls go at it.

Then the rain starts really coming down and Lyndsee decides to have a blast running through it.

Madisyn decided to take cover and start posing under the slide’s cover.

The rain really started pounding and the lightning started so we figured we better get out of there. It was a little sad, because they were also having two birthday parties there and they were all having to take shelter.

It was fun though letting our hair down so to speak and letting the girls just have some plain ole fun in the rain 🙂

Here is Your Chance Moms To Be on TV

I was contacted by the casting director to be on the hit reality show, Wife Swap. The taping would take place for 7 days, which means I would have to be away from my family for 7 days. If my girls were older, I probably could do it, since it does have a great pay to be on the show to the tune of 20,000 dollars.

I had to turn the casting director down at this time. I did ask her if I could bring my two youngest girls but she said unfortunately no :(. But she said if I could recommend someone to her and they end up casting them, she would give me 1000 buckaroos. SOOO… moms out there, if you would like to be on tv and get paid for it. Contact me or leave a comment here and I will get you in touch with the casting director. Come on it will be fun 🙂

Reflections On How Your Family Life Is

After spending 7 days thinking to myself ALOT and worrying if I would see the end of the week or not with this FLU. I tell you, I was one more scared woman with my little girl and then seeing the rest of us of how bad we were. It hit us hard. I do want to thank a minute and thank my commenter on this post. Out of all the 6 other medicines we tried, her suggestion in that last comment made our turning point to get over this awful FLU. I will definitely remember this for a long time and suggest it to others. Thank YOU KAT from the bottom of my heart.

Like I said, I did a lot of thinking of our situation right now and with my husband being in Florida and myself here with my 3 girls.

We are on the move again to find a nice warm, respectful, and caring household for us until we can be together all as a family again. You may ask, why I am writing this for and telling the whole world? Well, I just want you to know if your family is close and your friends are there for you then please respect that and make sure you tell them THANK YOU! Now my thoughts…

If your mom and/or dad gets in the floor to play with your kids their grandkids, then take a moment and say THANK YOU!

If your mom and/or dad is there to help you while your whole family is sick and does it with a caring heart, then take a moment and say THANK YOU!

If your mom and/or dad is there cheering on your kids their grandkids while they are having a good time playing with their toys, then take a moment and say THANK YOU!

If your mom and/or dad is there to take your kids their grandkids out for an outing or even a day to give you a break, then take a moment and say THANK YOU!

If your mom and/or dad is there to talk to you and give you advice or just a casual talk and say they love you, then take a moment and say THANK YOU!

These are the things I have thought about A LOT, that I know I will be there for my girls in their every waking hour. In my opinion, I just think that is what family is all about and SHOULD BE ABOUT. It's family HELLO, what happened to the basics.

Even though, I cry and wonder what happened to my family basics, there is one thing I can make sure of. Is my family that I have created with my husband and our 3 daughters to make sure we do keep the family basics in line and show our daughters that we will be there always and forever for them and SHOW them on a daily basis of what family's SHOULD BE.
