Lands End Helps Give You Swimsuit Confidence

The weather is heating up, the pools are open, so that means one thing, time to break out the swimsuits. It is National Swimsuit Confidence Week with Lands End.

I will go ahead and admit, I am not very confident when it comes to trotting through the community pool or public beach with my swimsuit on. I am pretty sure that there are a lot of moms that can shake their head in agreement. That is why Lands End is giving us that self confidence boost that we need to get through these summer months. No need to stress, it is time to just have a fun and stress free summer with your family.

We hit our first 90s today here in NC and so we loaded up the towels, sunscreen, water cooler and all put on our bathing suits and hit the pool. For the first time in a long time, I did feel confident in my swimsuit. I told my hubby I was going to post a picture of myself in my bathing suit but only wanted to do it waist up. As soon as I caught a glimpse of myself in the Lands End Swimsuit, I just got the biggest smile and told hubby let’s do a full body shot. I have lost 15 pounds since our March trip to Disney World and you can actually really tell in the picture. So today, along with 100 other bloggers, I am posting a picture in the swimsuit because I have swimsuit confidence.

I am just smiling. I am wearing the Women’s Regular Beach Living Dot Scoop Tankini Swimsuit. I absolutely love how this swimsuit conforms to my body and it is so comfortable. Also, the swimsuit actually stays in place. I did not have to worry about when I jumped in the pool, that I would come up and be hanging out all over the place. The material is such high quality as well, so you know it is going to last even past one summer. The swimsuit really brings out your best areas too as you will see in the above picture. The skirt is just amazing as I do not like my thighs at all so they can be hidden under the skirt. And… the design? Is it not just the cutest? Even hubby likes the polka dots which is very rare he likes a design that I pick out!

How To Prevent Lice

Last fall, I wrote how olive oil kills lice and unfortunately, we had to use olive oil once again recently in this household. There was another lice outbreak at my girls’ school but believe it or not, only one child got lice this time. You may wonder why the other child did not?

Every school day, I pull back M’s hair and either braid it, put it in a pony tail, pigtails, or a cute bun and then will spray her hair with hair spray all over. At night, M will wash and condition her hair with Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner from Trader Joes.

L on the other hand, I only would wash her hair with the kid’s suave shampoo and either leave her hair down or put it up in a cute hair bow with no hair spray.

Guess who got lice? L did. M escaped the outbreak on her softball team and the outbreak from her classroom. I now know that my precautions that I was doing with M works.

So, parents listen. Do these simple two steps daily and you will be able to help prevent lice from entering your child’s hair.

1. Pull your child’s hair back and hair spray the hair all over.

2. Wash your child’s hair with a tea tree oil and peppermint shampoo.

Believe me, you will be glad you did!

Raleigh NC Provides Fun Filled Moms Nite Out

NC is one amazing state from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains on the western side to the amazing Atlantic Beaches on the eastern side. Raleigh, NC is right in the the middle and has so much to offer for all families.

I was able to get a little taste of what Raleigh has to offer a couple weeks ago at the Moms Nite Out event showcased by the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau and Go Mom Inc.

The fun entertainment was held at Solas Restaurant in Raleigh, NC. We had an amazing view the of the Raleigh skyline all evening long. All of the moms were able to have a taste sampler of some of the top appetizers that Solas has to offer.

As we were enjoying mingling with other moms, Primp Salon and Bar was there to pamper all of the moms. Each mom was able to choose services that they wanted to experience. I chose the eyebrow wax since it had been before the girls were born that I last had my eyebrows waxed. It really is amazing how having your eyebrows done can change your eyes. Also, I wanted to be pampered and have my hair curled.

I really did have almost tears in my eyes when I first saw my hair. It was beautiful and I just wish I could get my hair to do that every day ;).

Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau was on hand as well to give us more details about the area. Raleigh has it all for everyone from the creative genius to the lifelong learner. They actually even have a quiz on their site that will help you plan your trip and see what kind of visitor you would be.

Incredible museums are in Raleigh that the whole family would enjoy such as the Marbles Museum. Parks that are family friendly and will keep the family busy all day and have the children smiling ear to ear.

Pedigree Transition Update With Our Dog Kingston

As you all know, we are doing a transition to Pedigree dog food for our precious doggy Kingston. We have never used pedigree with Kingston before, so we were all as a family eager to see how well he would do.

Update:

Kingston has now been on the dog food for 2 weeks. We had a little setback and had to do the transition a little slower. Kingston was beginning to get sick whenever he would eat. We took a couple steps back with how we were dividing his food, and so far everything has went well. He is a little dog, so I think it just took more time for his body to get adjusted to new food.

Skin and Coat – His coat feels very soft and has a new shinier look to it. It is not as dull or dirty look. I am eager to see if this continues.

Oral Care – Average, I do see an improvement from last time though.

Digestion – We have noticed his digestion has become more on the loose style. I am hoping once he is on the food another week, the digestion will even itself out.

Immunity – As, I said before, Kingston has always been a healthy dog.

As Kingston, he really seems to be enjoying the new pedigree food. Once we put the food out during the day, he comes running to start the chow time. We are loving the improvements we are seeing and also knowing that we are giving Kingston a more healthier and natural diet. Hope you will stay with us for our next update in two weeks to see how he is doing once he has been on the food for 1 month.

Scotty McCreery Thanks God For Helping Him Through American Idol

Scotty McCreery is our hometown boy here in the Triangle of NC, but that is not the reason that he has my votes. He has each week thanked God for getting him through every single day in Hollywood but this past week he showed his faith even further.

Yesterday, was his big homecoming to Garner, NC. We happen to like Garner as that is where M performs her clogging each week. The only thing that was hampering his big homecoming to Garner though was rain storms. Scotty opened up his bible Thursday night and was flipping through the page and landed on Amos 4:7

“I also withheld rain from you when the harvest was still three months away. I sent rain on one town, but withheld it from another. One field had rain; another had none and dried up.”

Do you know that the rain went all around Garner, NC and did not once sprinkle through the homecoming parade and the homecoming concert? God is Amazing. We were on the opposite side of Garner, NC in another town for M’s softball game. At one point, everyone actually had to seek shelter because of the storms. Finally after the thunder and lightning stopped, we were back in action. Unfortunately, the rain decided to pour heavily. M and hubby got soaked on the field, while L and I were hiding under an umbrella. So needless to say, God was watching out for Scotty and everyone else as there were approximately 30,000 people on hand at the concert.

I believe with all my heart that God is blessing Scotty and giving him the power to be such a positive influence in the music industry that we so deseparately need. For everyone that watched the show last Wednesday night, you seen how Scotty once again stood up for his faith and Christ Lord Jesus. Lady GaGa was the mentor for the week and had some very weird advice for Scotty. Such as treat the microphone as his girlfriend, act like your are sticking your tongue down the microphone and etc. Upsetting is a huge understatement as luckily M was in the bedroom at the time this was going on, as we try to limit what the girls see on tv. Fox crossed the lines of letting this go on a family tv show. Scotty could have given into peer pressure but yet, he stands up and kisses his cross around his neck thanking the Lord for being with him to get him through these tough moments in Hollywood.

The music industry is getting out of hand and it is very unfortunate, as music can be so inspirational and powerful without all the bad language. Thank you Scotty for standing up for what you believe in and having God with you every moment in your life. He ended his homecoming by saying that he loved all his fans and so thankful for them and God. AMEN!

Let’s go Scotty… our new American Idol literally!
