A Piece of Florida Right In The Living Room – Proflowers

Florida holds a special place in our household. We were actually going to make Florida our home again next month but plans changed and we are heading to the Raleigh/Durham area of NC. I always want to keep the Florida legacy in our family since that is where my husband was raised and we have lots of special family members in our life there.

So, I was very happy to find while browsing on the Proflowers site, the Sago Palm Bonsai.

Isn’t it just beautiful? Now, we can have a special Florida sentiment always with us right here in our home. Do you want to know the best part? You only have to water it once a week! Now, I definitely will not proclaim I have a green thumb so to have such a beautiful plant in the house that needs very minimal maintenance is right up this busy mom’s alley. The girls and I are very eager to watch it grow and know it will be right at home with us for many years to come.

Proflowers has so many household plants that you can send to that special someone to make their day. I honestly know most people in my tight family/friend network would love to get a gift that will keep them smiling over and over everyday.

Thank you to Proflowers for sending us this Florida keepsake that just keeps the spirit of Florida living going and going here in the One Moms World household. 🙂

Rayovac Summer Photo Contest

How is everyone enjoying their summer so far? Now, I know you have took tons and tons of summertime pictures! It is time to share them and win 🙂

Rayovac is hosting a Summer Photo Contest.

The Snap, Share & Win! Rayovac Summer Photo Contest will begin August 2, 2010 and will conclude on August 29, 2010. Each week will feature a different photo theme. Eligible contestants will be able to complete the entry form on Rayovac’s website, upload a photo and specify the theme. Contestants may upload 1 photo each week for a maximum of 3 photos. Once photos are posted, viewers can vote for 1 photo a day and add an unlimited number of comments. Contestants and viewers can share the contest with their friends (eighteen years old or older) utilizing the “Invite Friends” button or by sending an email. The photos receiving the most votes for each theme will win prizes. Rayovac Powers Fun, have fun and be creative with your photo entries! All levels of photography welcome!

PRIZES
For each of the three themes there will be:
Grand Prize– a Digital Camera Package, complete with a Photo Printer and Rayovac Rechargeables and a Digital Photo Frame for three of the Grand Prize Winner’s friends.
Second Place Prize– Photo Printer
Runner Up Prize– Digital Photo Frame Keychain.

Grill Healthier For Your Family

As you all know, I am all about finding healthier ways to cook delicious foods and share it with you all. This past weekend, I was fortunate to share the kitchen with Carolina Mama and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.

We decided to grill up some summer shrimp kabobs. First off, we sliced up the veggies (bell peppers and squash) and sprayed about 15 sprays of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.

After we finished spraying, we placed them on the grill pan for a few minutes.

As the veggies were grilling, we prepared the shrimp. This was so easy to prepare. We poured the fresh shrimp onto a plate and sprayed about 20 sprays of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter directly onto the shrimp. We then placed the shrimp onto the grill pan. After grilling both sides, the shrimp was so delicious.

It was time to begin the kabobs.

For a side item, we decided to grill up some fresh corn. Once again, this was so easy. Take fresh corn and spray I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter all over the corn and put onto the grill pan. Once the corn is done, spray the I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter once again and tada you have a fantastic healthy side item.

In the end, you have a delicious meal that is very healthy for the whole family all with the help from I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.

Cure the Summertime Blues with Crayola

Moms and Dads… breathe in! It is all ok. We are in the middle or even the latter of summer vacation with some school districts going back in just 2.5 short weeks. Are you dreaming of this song at night in your sleep?

Too funny… every time I think of that song. Personally, I am always sad to see summer vacation end as I miss my girls so much but that is not to say that I am not always trying to come up with ideas on how to keep the “I’m bored, mommy” comments away.
