Update on Our Busy Month

We have had a hectic schedule past month but it has been super fun... I think only time I have cried when my Madisyn went to get her diploma. Gosh where has the time went? How can they already be graduating preschool!


For my birthday and mother's day we went to the outer banks. The girls had a blast. Now Madisyn is my water baby and would stay in the ocean or the pool. Lyndsee on the other hand loved the pool but didn't want anything to do the with the ocean LOL.

Then when we got back from vacation, Madisyn only had a week till her graduation. I was so proud of how she has done this year. She has really did a 360 circle and is such a social bug now with everyone and shameless brag.. so darn smart hehe. Here are some picts from her big day on Monday!



And now since we got our vacation and preschool out of the way... we are preparing for our big move to Tampa, Florida. I have always been a mountain girl but I looking forward to the new adventure and being with DH's family more and the girls can grow up with them. My mom and dad are retired too and they will be doing the move also so the girls will have both sides of the family. DH accepted the transfer for his company and the new position pays more and he is excited about it. We will be moving at the end of June. Hopefully everything will go well.
There is our update of our interesting month and I wanted to show off Madisyn as a graduate. :)

8 Interesting Facts About Jen

There is a little game going around the moms blogging world. What you do is post 8 interesting facts about yourself that people really didn’t know about you. Hold your breath here I GO!

1) GASP!….. I’m really going to post this. I have been previously married. I got married right out of highschool thinking to my highschool sweetheart. It went downhill fast :(.

2) Because of number 1… I’m scared of getting married again. YES you read that right, I’m not married. Everyone thinks I am because I have two beautiful girls and I have been with their dad over 5 years now. We consider each other hubbs and wifey but we have never officially got married ;).

3) I still co-sleep with my 4 year old and 2 year old and have no means of stopping anytime soon ;). I love to wake up to them and see their smiley faces and love to snuggle with them at night. It warms my heart and I know they are safe right there with me.

4) I love God and pray to him daily and thank him always for my girls, but, there is that but, we don’t go to church every Sunday :(. I just feel that since I’m not married I would be a hypocrite going to church. I still believe in God and tell my girls about him. Hopefully one day we can make this right!

5) I was molested as a very young girl by a really close family member and I still can’t come to terms today to tell anybody. Only person that know’s is my better half, Scott. It haunts me all the time and one day I hope to get it off my chest.

6) I love to sing. I know I may not have the best voice in the world, but 75% of the day I’m singing. I sing while I cook, I sing in the shower, I sing driving down the road, I sing to my girls….. I just LOVE To sing. It helps me relieve stress and feel renewed again.

7) I have been going to the gym for 3 months and have lost a total of 21lbs. See my weight fell off when I had Madisyn and I was back in size 5’s by the time she was 6months old. With Lyndsee I have had the worst trouble getting it off. She is 2.5 now and it IS TIME to get it off and get my self-confidence back.

8) I’m going to be a Florida Chic. I have lived in the Mountains all my life and I know this will be a cultural shock but I am ready for the new adventure and hopefully this will be a good move for our family!

Jen is Moving to Florida

Stressed, Frantic, Overwhelmed, Excited, Anxious… how about all those emotions wrapped up into one and who does it describe. The beautiful (haha) talented (haha) Jen Houck.

My better half has accepted a transfer to his company’s headquarters in Tampa, Florida. We will be right on the bay. I am thrilled yet going crazy all at the same time. I’m still trying to keep my mind going with my business all the while trying to get the house packed up too.

Has anyone made a multi-state move?

I feel really good about this move. I will always be a mountain girl at heart but there is only so many opportunities here where we live and I can see so many more great opportunities for my family, my business and hubbs career. Also most importantly my girls will have both sides of the family near by instead of only mine.

Sooo with all that said that is why Jen may be sporadic for the next month ;). To jump start this move and for me to get re-energized we will be taking a vacation soon 🙂

Blake on American Idol

I am so loving American Idol this week. This was a very good week for everyone except Jordin. Poor thing.. but like she admitted Rock is not her thing. She still has an amazing voice and I want to see her it the final two with Blake.

Blake definitely took a risk this week and just goes to show you how he loves to do his own work and not copy another’s work. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the risk he took this week. I keep playing it over and over and also got the recording off of American Idol’s site this week.

A friend showed me this video of him from this week on American Idol. I’m going to share it here and would love to hear your thoughts of the risk he took 🙂 He’s so yummy and talented at the same time!!

Mom You Are Silly

Those words are what my four year old told me this afternoon hahaha!!

See I had told her all day we were going to go to story time at the library where it was animal day too. They were going to get to pet the animals, hold them etc. Well all run around this afternoon get ready and head on out the door with five minutes to spare! HMMM…. we get there and the parking lot doesn’t looked packed like I predicted it would be. So we walk in anyways thinking.. oh well at least we get to be a part of it. We walk over to the area and nobody is there. OK.. so what is going on. I look up at the paper and it is next Wednesday. OMG… I felt like such a dope. I had to explain to Madisyn and Lyndsee what was going on and why we were not seeing animals. Madisyn looked up to me and said mom you are silly!

PHEW… at least she thinks I am silly and not mad at me. Glad I passed that one ;).

Anyone else have mommy brain and show up somewhere when its actually the next week?
