Can you hear that? Listen close? Do you hear it now? Guess what? Me either!
That is because there is no noise. For the last 7 years, I have had some kind or some sort of noise in my background. Today it was different. I’m not so sure, I am so keen on no noise in my background. You see, both of my girls went to school today. M started last Wednesday and L started today!
It is such a weird feeling. I do know, I will be getting lots more work done during the day… but I do know too, I will be missing them with all my heart. It seems like I was just feeding them and now they are all packed and ready to go to school to feed themselves. How did they grow up so fast?
I was very worried about L. I facebooked, I tweeted and I talked to my IRL friends about this a LOT over the last couple weeks. L and I have been attached at the hip literally for the last five years. I needed her just as much as she needed me. I just wasn’t too sure how all this would go down today. I do know, that L has M’s teacher from last year so it made today so much easier for all.
I stayed with L about 15 minutes this morning in her classroom. I told her at that time, mommy was going to leave. She gave me the “I Love You” sign, hugged me so big and kissed me. Then she said “I love you mom, right there is the door you go out.” ….. and that was that. I walked myself back to the van, just a bawling the whole way. Did I just really leave her?
When I went to pick her up, she didn’t see me at first. Then when she caught sight of me, she came running so fast and jumped into my arms. Her teacher said she did so good. Said she was not shy one bit, but she does have a very quiet voice. My L? There’s no way….. the one that loves to scream at the top of her lungs, the one that loves to sing so loud to outdo her big sister… the one that loves to chase the doggie and just laugh so loud. We shall see in a couple weeks if she is still using that quiet voice ;).
I do pack her breakfast and lunch for her, since I know what she likes and I can control the healthy eating. But, big problem… she decided not to eat anything today and just drink. I’m hoping its because she was so excited and taking it all in. I’m so proud of you baby girl! You proved mommy wrong and I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely miss you during the day just as I miss M soooo much during the day as well.
Speaking of M… she is just a true gem at school. She has already got a blue patriot and school hasn’t even been in a week. She has got all green lights sent home everyday as well. M loves school so much, but she is definitely ready for them to start doing fun and exciting things in class. She said mommy… there is only so much coloring I can stand in a day hahaha.
I’m so proud of both of my girls and here’s to a great 2009-2010 school year!!!

It must be a little lonely around there during the day! I’m enjoying the quieter house since Nicky is in school, but I do miss him around the house. Although he is already sick, so he’ll already be missing school tomorrow. Your daughters are adorable as always.

School life is the most enjoyable part of life.. I’m happy to hear that your daughters have started the learning phase :):) How is your L feeling to go there..? This is the first year for her at school right… Is she troubling you or is she enjoying there?
