Summer is just about officially to come to a close here in the High Country. Fall is upon us here. We usually have a very short fall before the winter weather begins. I really do like to get out and hike the wonderful trails here during the much cooler weather and while the leaves are changing.
I have been on a really good hunt since last year to find some great hiking shoes that are comfortable and stylish.. You know I am a lady ;). I was so very honored to have Kuru Footwear contact me to see if I would be interested in trying out their Womens Footwear. I actually received them just in time for BlogHer. Since I was on my feet from morning to night there, you better believe I enjoyed every minute of them. Not once did I have to say… my feet are killing me!!!
Kuru® Footwear features the World’s Most Anatomical Midsole for active footwear. This patent-pending technology was developed by a team of certified pedorthists, physical therapists and footwear specialists. Every layer of the KuruSole™ technology is anatomically shaped, offering unprecedented fit with orthotic-quality support. In a recent independent marketing survey conducted with customers, 79% of customers Agree or Strongly Agree that Kuru is ‘more supportive’ than other shoes, while 88% of customers Agree or Strongly Agree that Kuru is ‘ergonomic for my feet’. This is a strong statement to the values of the midsole technology. In addition, 82% of existing customers will purchase Kuru in the future and 96% of customers recommend Kuru to their friends.
The ones that I received are the Chicane – Soft Shell. They are actually one of the Top Picks of 2009.
*Chicane – This light duty trail shoe features a full-wrapping nubuck rand for support. Two materials: one style with water-resistant soft shell uppers (200602, 200603) while the other styles are leather (200604, 200605).
* Asymmetrical Kribs™ Lacing System wraps around the foot
* Dual-density rubber outsole
* Low-Friction, moisture-control lining reduces hot spots
* Nubuck finish rand for durability and support, fully gusseted tongue keeps out debris, water, etc.
* Soft Shell Colors: java/capri, jet black/Capri | Leather Colors: chocolate/ash rose, burnt sienna
* $89.95
They truly are the most comfortable shoes. I am so excited to go hiking with them soon now that I have put them to the real test of walking in them for 10 hours, two days straight at the blogging conference last month. To be able to stand in them all day and not have a chance to sit down… with no backache or your feet killing you… that speaks volume to me. That is why I really do recommend these.

Remember that demand will be up from previous years and you should be shopping earlier. Product price and available support from the salesmen are two very important aspects to be not overlooked.
