Recently, we bought a desk for M’s bedroom. She is absolutely in love with this desk and you will see her sitting and writing for hours. She had a homework assignment to choose a recent trip and write about it. She chose to write about her brother’s recent wedding. I just had to share with you. The story was so touching for a 7 year old!

My brother’s wedding was at the Women’s Club in Florida. He was married to Ashley. There was a DJ there and we danced. We did the Cha Cha slide. It was so fun and we did down down cupid and we watched ice age and a slide show when they were young. It was fun. We had cake and then I clogged in front of everybody. It was so fun that I would not go to sleep. I was having so much fun that it made me sad when we had to leave. I did get to dance with my brother Josh and now sister Ashley. It was the best thing ever. We brought our pet Kingston. It is my pet dog and my brother Josh is the best brother ever. I miss him so much. It is because I have not seen him for 4 years and I just wanted to hug him so much. He does hug me back. When he hugs me, I know he is the most best brother ever.

This story just reminds me how much we should encourage our children to write. We knew M loved her brother but didn’t realize how much she misses him until reading this story. M is a lot like her dad in she doesn’t show a lot of emotions, so encouraging writing is a big step in sharing her emotions.
She is always drawing and writing cards to give to her dad and I. It is definitely a creative talent that I will continue to encourage with M and L.
What a beautiful couple they are and your daughters take my breath away with their outer and inner beauty!
