I am not sure about the rest of the country, but the heat is definitely on here in the Triangle area of NC. Oh my goodness, you cannot even walk out the door without feeling the high humidity and the sun in your eyes. The sun can do some major damage to your skin and your eyes.
Did you know that 7 out of 10 children don’t wear sunglasses when outdoors? That is not a good percentage at all. I am always pushing sunglasses on the girls when we are out as I know how the UV rays can really damage your eyes. We learn just how bad the damage can be in this week’s VSP Vision Care webisode.

I wear them year round, not just in summer. The glare off ice and snow can be just as bad as the summertime.

I think I may have been tougher when I was a kid, but these days I can’t deal with sun (or snow) glare without a good pair of sunglasses. I think today’s children have learned that it’s “cool” to wear sunglasses and that helps convince them to protect their eyes.

I didnt wear sunglasses until I moved to Central Florida. I needed them so my eyes could survive in a concrete jungle. Now I cant go without them. Im such a sunglasses junkie but I cant afford the high end designer frams unless they are on sale at dillard’s. I even have my daughter a couple pair and she’s gotten so intune with wearing them we both strut our stuff with my Marc Jacobs and her Disney Princess Tiana shades!

I never leave the house without my sunglasses. I feel naked without them and I can’t see! If I go out without them I end up with a headache in minutes.
I find that if i wear them all year round they help my night vision
