It may seem like I am boasting, when I say L at 4 years old has never had a soft drink in her life and does not want one either. She would rather have water, milk or juice. Mostly water and milk. I am just a proud mom that she would rather have those drinks that soft drinks. It is also her own will that she does not like soft drinks. She just has no desire for them.
Also, another thing she will choose peanuts or peanut butter over candy or chocolate. We were at the grocery store today, and the cashier just thought it was so weird because she chose peanuts in the checkout line instead of candy.
Being healthy really plays a lot on my minds, because when I was growing up we did not eat the healthiest things. We just ate whatever we could get our hands on to get by and unfortunately it was junk a lot. So by the time I was in 8th grade, I turned to starving myself to get off the weight of me. I got down to a very dark time of just skin and bones. I totally do not want that for my girls. I know self image means a lot to girls, so I want to raise my girls on more healthier options.
I am losing weight the healthy way this time, and not going to starve myself. Even though it has entered my mind to do that, I want to prove a good example to my girls. So water and peanuts it is for this diet HAHAHAHA… at least that is what L says ;).

Good for you! 🙂
Our girls are the same way – they only drink water, milk or (at least for two of them) juice. We’ve never given them soft drinks and therefore they don’t like them. And they refuse them if offered (phew!). 🙂

I’d be boasting if my son was like that! Heck I’d be boasting if I was like that. LOL I think it’s awesome that she chooses those things over the alternatives especially at such a young age.
