Children need praise when growing up. Amen, right?
They do not need to just hear:
“Sit down”, “Stop that now”, “Don’t give me that attitude”, “Go clean your room”, “Do your homework, now.”
Do those phrases sound familiar? It is tough just typing those out, because at times I do feel like all I am constantly doing is disciplining. Life shouldn’t be like that. Kids thrive when they know they are making us happy. Thanks to Hallmark for helping us parents to come up with such a cool innovative way to praise our kids while surprising them.
Hallmark has recently introduced the all-new Kids Collection. Click on that link and you’ll see a sampling of the gifts and cards that are available for parents, aunts/uncles and grandparents to share with the kids in their lives.
I have been surprising Big Sis with cards in her lunch boxes for the past couple weeks. When she gets home, she says mommy I smiled today because of something and we will go through a little guessing game of what made her smile. Here is one of the cards that I surprised her with:
She is having the best fun reading these and she never knows when to expect one either :). I just love that we can encourage our kids because there is at times they may be too busy playing, that they will not hear your little whispers to them on doing a great job. Now, you can sneak in cards and the kids will always have them in their room to check in on every once in a while. Big Sis is really enjoying putting these up on her dresser and loves to show everyone that comes over.
Hallmark and I want to give YOU the opportunity to encourage your kids as well. Hallmark is going to give 3 lucky readers here a set of Encouraging Cards. All you need to do to enter is click on the Kids Collection site and let me know a favorite card design that you like 🙂 Have fun and I cannot wait to hear how your kids react to these super cool cards.
If you would like to stock up on the Kids Collection cards or pass the information along to other family members, then click to find a store near you that carries the Kids Collection cards in the store. They cards are found in Hallmark Gold Crown stores.

I think I like the boy’s room card that says You’re working hard…
My young man has been struggling with some of his school work, and this card sounds encouraging. I totally agree with you that children need to know what they are doing right, and not constantly hearing scolding from us as parents. I try to talk to my children the way I would want to be talked to. I know there is a time when you have to be stern, and you have to be the parent, but it’s important to remember that they have feelings too. There is definately balance, but being too harsh really can leave the wrong lasting effects.

I like the “May I Just Say Wow” card the best. PJ(my 5 year old son) just had his first soccer game this past Saturday, and he was such a natural. I was so proud of him as he played like a big boy and even scored his first goal. He loves to get mail, and I think these cards would be perfect for me to drop in for him, to find in the mail, so he gets a special surprise.

I love the “I like you more than Ice Cream” kid’s card. My three nieces live in Missouri and I love to keep in touch by sending them little surprise cards just because. I love all of the little necklaces and fun little gifts in this line too. I just adore Hallmark in general. My very first job was working at Hallmark when I was 16.
