I had the honor of being in the presence of the big “Anniversary Announcement” yesterday in downtown Raleigh, NC. BCBSNC is celebrating 10 years of a healthy presence in NC. Over the 10 years they have been continuously invested in a healthy change for the state of NC. This year BCBSNC surpassed 400 total grants. Since their founding, they have invested more than $67 million in NC nonprofit organizations. This helps raise the bar so much for NC in helping us keep all individuals healthy.
To continue on this healthy path, BCBSNC made a huge annoucement. Listen in on the below video to hear about this fantastic news!
The BCBSNC is reinvesting in the 10 partner organizations because they are a testament to programs having a tangible impact on the health of North Carolinians across the state. As one grantee Jill Staton Bullard, co-founder and president of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) said:
“The people we work with every day are hungry, and for the past 21 years we have evolved from a place they turn for food, to a place they turn for the nutrition they need. They BCBSNC Foundation’s support allows up to further our impact, to continue our work in food rescue, to provide nutritious fruits and vegetables, and to establish community gardens in local neighborhoods. Without their support, we could not do what we do today. We are honored to be recognized as part of this select group.”
Congratulations BCBSNC on the successful 10 years! Here’s to a continued healthy future!
