Our dog Kingston is a huge part of our lives. We love him just like he is our own child and we only want the best for him. Our precious L and Kingston are two peas in a pod. They are always together and she sheds tears every time we have to leave him with our parents when we go out of town.
With all of this being said, we want to make sure we are doing all we can to ensure he is getting the best nutrition. He is never allowed table food and is only allowed dog food. Over the next few weeks we are embarking on a new Ambassadorship here at One Moms World. We will be changing over Kingston to 100% Pedigree and reviewing how well he does with not only his appetite, but his skin and coat, his oral care, his digestion and his immunity.
Just this last week, we began the transition. Remember anytime you do transition your dog to a new food, it needs to be done slowly.
For days 1 and 2 insert 25% of the new food into the dog’s current dry dog food.
For days 3 and 4, 50% new food should be in the dish.
For days 5 and 6, 75% of the food will be the new food,
and beyond 7 days the food will be 100% of the new food.
I have always heard positive things about pedigree dog food, but we just chose another dog food when he was just a puppy. I am eager to share with you on how well Kingston does with this new food over the course of the next 6 weeks.
First week on the food: Kingston has only been on the food for four days, so he is not fully on Pedigree just yet!
Skin and Care: His hair is not shiny, just dull looking.
Oral Care: Average
Digestion: He digests very quickly and has no problems at the moment.
Immunity: Knock on wood, Kingston has never been sick.
Kingston’s first impression has been a very good one. He is eating the food as soon as we put it out. I am curious to see how he does this week once we are on pedigree 100%. Stay tuned with us over the next few weeks as we report on how our transition goes and if we will change over permanently to pedigree for Kingston’s diet.
I wrote this review while participating in an Ambassador campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Pedigree and received dog food to facilitate my reviews and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
